Don’t look at the giants who curse you to death,
But look at the Savior who gives life and breath.
Don’t look at the lions with blood on their claws,
But look at the God who can muzzle their jaws.
Don’t look at the tempest that whips you around,
But look at the Lord of the sea and the ground.
Don’t look at the water that covers your face,
But look at the Christ who has finished the race.
Don’t look at the numbers or strength of your foe,
But look at the God of the foolish and slow.
Don’t look at your weakness, your failures and lack,
But look at the Lord who holds nothing back.
Don’t look at the wounds from those words like a knife,
But look at the Healer whose wounds give you life.
Don’t look at the fire that swallows you whole,
But look at the Fourth Man’s pivotal role.
Don’t look at the Pharaohs and Herods and Sauls,
But look at the God who is Maker of all.
Don’t be discouraged, and don’t be afraid,
The Jesus who loves you has conquered the grave.
